Although these books came out a longtime ago, i read them a few years back. These are the best books about generally nothing and after reading these books, your vocabulary and sentence making abilities change drastically. The writing style of Douglas Adams is insanely weird.. uncommon, plain, simple and yet very intelligent and coarse. These books take you to a weird universe where everything is nonsense. The earth ends 4 times in these books, for very uncommon and weird reasons. There are 5 different novels, which i bought as one piece.
1. Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
2. The Restaurant at the End of the Universe
3. Life, the Universe and Everything
In the very beginning Earth is destroyed because it falls in the way of a hyperspatial express route for Galaxy. Earthlings, obviously have no clue about this… and the Vogans announce, “All the planning charts and demolition orders have been on display at your local planning department in Alpha Centauri for 50 of your Earth years, so you’ve had plenty of time to lodge any formal complaint and it’s far too late to start making a fuss about it now. What do you mean you’ve never been to Alpha Centauri? Oh, for heavens sake mankind, it’s only four light years away, you know. I’m sorry, but if you can’t be bothered to take an interest in local affairs that’s your own lookout. Energise the demolition beams.”
4. So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
5. Mostly Harmless
Read these books if you want to develop a crazy sense of humor and like witty writing. Nothing literary here but a genius mind at work.
